  1. My oldest daughter has been insistent for years that she will move to Japan after college. I can’t deny she seems drawn there, and God is at work in this somehow. We recently moved to France to begin our work, and she is learning a lot about being the foreigner, and the only Christian she knows in school. I pray the Lord leads good men and women to teach, and love in Japan for his glory.

A case for a shift in thought regarding tatemae and honne I believe can be found in Romans 10:9
“That if thou shalt confess with they mouth (exterior) the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart (interior) that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

While it is necessary to have wisdom/discernment to know how and when to share about yourself within reason, what we show on the outside/ express should match what is on the inside of our motives and intent.
Interesting to note that especially in the gospel that God calls us to be consistently true, to ourselves and to others. We cannot be of a double mind.
